Purchasing is our business. MedCost operates as a fully functional purchasing department for physician offices, surgery centers and other non-acute healthcare facilities. MedCost negotiates everything you use – office supplies, clinical supplies, pharmaceuticals, printed materials and capital equipment. We are able to cater to physician preferences and negotiate all brands with a variety of vendors and manufacturers. We combine our entire client purchasing volume to drive down prices using our own staff, technology, office space and overhead.
MedCost represents volume. We service thousands of physicians, hundreds of healthcare offices and surgery centers in multiple states representing all specialties. We have a broad base of objective product knowledge and can suggest cost saving alternatives based on first hand experience with our clients and vendors. MedCost is in a constant growth mode - continually adding new practices with more volume.
MedCost provides efficiency and convenience. MedCost researches, negotiates and places your orders. MedCost also confirms each order and handles all customer service – returns, credits, and damaged goods. MedCost quantifies savings and provides you with comprehensive administrative reports to help track your expenses.
MedCost specializes in spend management. There is a significant difference between belonging to a GPO and knowing how to effectively use GPO contracts. A Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) offers valuable services and good vendor discounts to practices. However, GPO discounts usually apply to only a fraction of the items you use. The contracts are typically presented through a series of preferred manufacturers and vendors, and it is incumbent upon the end user (you) to do the purchasing, access and monitor the contracts. MedCost does the work for you! It is the ongoing management of the GPO portfolio that keeps the pricing down. Anyone can leverage a deal for a better price, but lowering the price and then stabilizing it over time is our specialty.
